What is the procedure for dowry case?

Respected Sir/Ma'am There has been a dowry demand from us for my sister's marriage. They are asking for 14 lakhs cash after engagement. We have spent almost 10 lakhs in engagement. We are having some recordings against them but it is not exactly clear. Sir What should we do next?

You should go to your nearest police station and file an FIR, stating that you have received the demand for dowry, as demanding dowry is an illegal act, ther must be a registered police complaint for the same, to proceed further in trial court, and as far as evidence is concerned that is not an issue once the case have been registered by a police officer.

Dear Client, You can get an FIR lodged in the concerned poollice station with respect to this incident. You can directly file a criminal case in the respective Court against the groom side under section 420 IPC and Dowry Prohibition Act.

How many years of marriage has your sister completed ?If its less than 7 years you can make a dowry complaint and can legally proceed under section 498A .

protect cash gifts from future claims

My grandmother is selling one of her properties. She will gift 50 lakhs to me by transferring money from her bank account to mine. I operate all her documents and bank accounts. She is of sound mind, under no pressure, and she is not manipulated. She is gifting this money at her own will. I am concerned someone else in the family might come up later on and claim that I had done something illegal to get that money from her. What documents should I prepare to prevent that.

Binding nature of Section 30 Order

1) My name was Mittul Mongia son of Shri Ramesh Chand and I was given into adoption to Shri Sundar Das so I became Mittul Mongia son of Shri Sundar Das . 2) There was a section 30 case of my land acquisition in district court . 3) I filed an application in the section 30 case in January 2024 that "Mittul Mongia son of Shri Ramesh Chand and Mittul Mongia son of Shri Sundar Das are one and the same person ". I had tendered a valid adoption deed based on which this application was allowed in February 2025 and section 30 judge passed the order that "Mittul Mongia son of Shri Ramesh Chand and Mittul Mongia son of Shri Sundar Das are one and the same person ". This order was neither objected and nor challenged by huda and this order has attained finality. 4) I was held entitled to the entire compensation amount and the total compensation was released in my favor which was decided in February 2025 5) There is another section 18 case going on in which also I filed the same application in January 2024. (Same time when i filed in Section 30 case) What should be the correct approach in the section 18 case now-- A) Now since the issue of identity has already been decided and settled in Section 30 case and the Order passed in Section 30 case is bind in section 18 case, so should I move ahead with the application to get it allowed based on section 30 judgement OR B) Should I withdraw the application since Identity issue is already settled and section 18 case deals with quantum of compensation and not with entitlement (since entitlement is already dedcided in my favour in section 30 case) C) How will Section 11 of the CPC will be applied in my section 18 application/issue because the parties and issues are exactly the same in both Section 30 and Section 18 case
