UP CM to builders: Allot 50000 flats within 3 months

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently directed officials to deliver 50,000 flats to homebuyers within three months. Investors in the Noida and Greater Noida area will get delayed possession. The chief minister’s announcement was made after a high-level meeting was conducted at his office. Alok Tandon, CEO of NOIDA authority directed the developers to submit a fresh action plan for the delivery of flats to homebuyers.

Four days later after the directions issued by the Yogi government, a meeting was held between the Noida authority and thirty-five housing developer the meeting, the meeting took place in the Noida authority’s administrative officer located sector 6.

Tandon paid individual attention to problems of each builder separately with an aim to resolve issues for flat delivery to buyers. The Supertech, Amrapali, Jaypee, Ajnara, Gaursons, Gardenia Glory, Antriksh, Divine Meadows, ABA Corp, Sunworld and Unnati Fortune Group among others were present at the meeting.

“I have asked thirty-five builders, who attended the meeting to submit their fresh delivery schedule in next two to three days. Our aim is to help builders to deliver flats. The government wants 50,000 flat deliveries in next two months. Therefore, I have asked each builder to tell break up of flats in detail that when they will deliver flats and by what time,” said Tandon.

According to the Noida authority survey, there are 78,000 flat buyers who are unable to take possession in around 40 housing projects. Ninety-four builders are unable to finish and deliver flats because they owes Rs 10,290 crore land dues to the Noida authority.

“Since the builders face financial issues the authority has two schemes to help in such cases. One scheme is that a builder can get deliver flat and get execute flat registry by paying land dues per flatwise. The second scheme is that a builder can deposit 10 percent of total land dues at one time and then pay remaining dues per flat at the time of execution of a registry,” said Tandon.

The Greater Noida authority chief executive officer Debasish Panda has also directed the builders to complete formalities and finish projects to deliver flats as soon as possible.

“I have directed 20 builders on Friday to submit required papers and get occupancy certificate issues so that buyers can get flats,” said Greater Noida official.
