Leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi has urged the Indian government to bring a law to punish any person who calls or refers Indian muslim as ‘Pakistani’.

Asaduddin putting forth his recommendation in the house to the government has stated that bring a law which will provide punishment of three year jail to any person who will call Indian muslim a Pakistani. He further stated that he knows that his demand will certainly go unheard as the BJP-led government will never bring and pass such a bill. He further added that Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s theory of two-nation has been rejected by the muslims living in India.

While taking part in lok sabha debate he said that the triple talaq bill introduced by the government is anti-women and the criticized the bill to ban instant triple talaq. He claimed that introducing a bill to ban instant triple talaq is not a solution to the social problem. He further claimed that introduction of such a bill is only a policy to sent muslim men to jail. In support of his argument, he said that even in the past dowry deaths and other crimes against women did not stop even when there are specific laws present against them.

He said that the demand for bill is genuine as he himself has faced the remark of ‘go to Pakistan’ in the past. He said that in 2016 for refusing to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Shiv Sena had asked him to go back to Pakistan.

Ramdas Kadam Minister of Shiv Sena has said that Asaduddin does not respect our country and thus he does not deserve to live in India. He further added that Asaduddin should go back to Pakistan or we will drive him out.

To this Asaduddin has argued that Indian Constitution does not make it mandatory to chant this slogan and he will never chant the same even if somebody puts a knife on his neck.
