CBSE Paper Leak: Education Minister And Board Still Deny To Agree

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce the date for the re-examination of class 10 mathematics paper before the week ends, after considering the dates of other examinations. The board is also said that they will conduct the re-examination of class 12 economics paper.

 

On Wednesday, a special team of Delhi Police was set up to investigate the leak of two question papers. They investigated almost 25 people, mostly students who had an access to the handwritten question papers. Police is trying to trace the source of the leak circulated over WhatsApp. The special investigation team is led by RP Upadhyay, the senior police officer who heads the crime branch.

 

As per the reports, a number of snapshots of handwritten paper were circulated through Whatsapp, the source of which is being looked for.

 

Union Education Minister Prakash Javadekar contended that the papers were leaked just half an hour before the examination, but he assured the parents and the students that police complaint has been filed right away. The minister tried to underline the matter as a localized problem limited just to Delhi.

 

The Police reports having a different opinion. It says the papers had been leaked the evening before the two examinations. The cases were registered on charges of criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal conspiracy.

 

The economics paper has been alleged to be leaked hours before the commencement of the examination, but the CBSE asked the parents and the students not to panic. The report said that they have checked with all exam centres and it was observed that the paper was not leaked, but the source of circulation is yet to know. They assured the students and the parents that the board is doing its best to ensure the sanctity of the examination.
