Assam Ready to Introduce e-Budget Live Streaming on Public Domain

Previously Andhra Pradesh has brought similar technological revolution in Assembly by presenting an e-budget but it was not shared in public, was among the legislators only. But this time Assam is doing something more to post it on twitter and facebook through live streaming and especially for the ones who are too occupied to follow the budget on television or social media, the informations shall be available on the Google app, as stated by Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Finance Minister of Assam.

Assam is all set to present a totally unique digital budget today with tablets in the Assembly for legislators making the first time in India to draft the budget to be shared with the citizens by live streaming on Twitter and Facebook.

Previously Andhra Pradesh has brought similar technological revolution in Assembly by presenting an e-budget but it was not shared in public, was among the legislators only. But this time Assam is doing something more to post it on twitter and facebook through live streaming and especially for the ones who are too occupied to follow the budget on television or social media, the informations shall be available on the Google app, as stated by Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Finance Minister of Assam.

Explaining the new introduction, Sarma said that the MLAs will be able to access the tablets during discussion and cur motion on the Budget inside the House, and the mediapersons who are covering the budget presentation will be given a pen drive of 8GB with all the details. The Assam finance department had invited for the suggestions from the public regarding the budget provisions and to which more than one thousand people have submitted their suggestions regarding the budget, the best ones among those shall be incorporated with the present year’s budget.

Added to the new introduction, one more change that the state is introducing is to have a separate chapter on gender, child, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and outcome budgeting which will be allocated with adequate funds for welfare of women, children, and achieves the goals by the government.
