The slogan of the businessman Raj Kundra is 'Live life on your terms.' From a kid of a bus driver to a multi-millionaire, his triumph is very intriguing, although naturally heavily disputed. As the 18th richest British Asian, Kundra was named by Success in 2004. Cricket and blended martial arts included a number of investments in the name of Kundra. He got married bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty in 2009 who became his second wife. Raj Kundra's journey is filled with controversy, ranging from the IPL betting scandal to Bitcoin fraud and now being booked under the pornography case.

Raj Kundra was born in London where his father used to work as a bus conductor. Later on, when he was 18 years old, he moved to Dubai where he sold pure pashmina shawls to the fashion houses located there and through which he earned his first million. The most recognized business of British-businessman Raj Kundra is of the Rajasthan Royals. He had a twelve percent stake in the team through which he made millions when this IPL team won its first match in 2008. In 2013 Raj Kundra was proved to be involved in a match fixing case as consequence of which he faced a life time ban in the IPL.In 2012, Raj Kundra, with a passion in mixed arts, established the league for the same with actor Sanjay Dutt, which promoted and brought together contestants from across the world along with the local fighters. Raj Kundra is also behind Best Deal TV which is a 24/7 home shopping television channel. The channel sold a wide range of accessories and apparels under her wife’s brand. He had also planned to launch his poker site but as a result of false allegations of celebrities endorsing his site, he struck down the plan for the same. In 2017, in cooperation with the International Poker Federation, he launched the game Indian Poker League. The Live Streaming Social Media application, which allows professional and amateur people to exhibit their skill through the streaming of life, was one of the actors' most blooming and profitable business.

Currently the business man is on every news channel for being arrested by the Mumbai police for being the key conspirator in the case of making pornographic films and displaying them on an OTT platform. He is booked for the same under various provision of the India Penal Code of 1860 i.e.,  Sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays),Section 67 of Information Technology Act, 2000 which states punishment for publishing or transmitting any obscene content through electronic form and the Indecent Representation of Women Prohibition Act. The Mumbai police claimed that on 4 February this year five persons had been detained because women were allegedly forced into porn films. These ambitious actresses, who came from different areas of the nation to Mumbai, would be offered web serial roles, but they would modify the script on the day of the shooting and scare women with exposure. If the woman declined, the shooting preparations had to be paid.

After films had been produced, the defendants released them on mobile applications and offer Abonnements on the popular OTT platforms. Then they would post ads on social media networks. As pornography in India is prohibited, that too contravened the law. Police said that the shooting was of a  a day-long shot at a rented home, just like Madh Island, on the outskirts of Mumbai. There would be a minimum number of 5 to 6 personnel who doubled as directors, dialogue writers, scouting companies and developers of web apps were increased. These applications were particularly popular when during this pandemic induced locked down, some of which had a membership base in lakhs, the police said.

The police probe had two aspects. There were first those who made these porn programmes and the other ones who transmitted these movies. Some of these manufacturing companies stream from outside servers. One such UK company, finding that the contents were uploaded, went under police surveillance, and Umesk Kamat, its CEO, was detained. An officer stated it was Kundra's suspected relationship with Kamat and the firm which loaded pornographic material that made him land into this trouble.

Mumbai Police had arrested him stating that there was sufficient evidence against him as a result of which he turns out to be a key conspirator in the present case. Many other directors were also grilled for the same on of which was Tanveer Hashmi which was also to be arrested for being suspected for the same but is out on bail. On a long interrogation by crime branch with director Tanveer Hashmi, he revealed that he did not meet Kundra in his life but made short films of 20 to 25 minutes involving nudity but described it as soft porn and not actual porn. The crime branch while investigating about the case has till now recovered 70 films that were filmed by 45-year-old businessman Raj Kundra’ close aid from different production houses.

After numerous ladies/ actresses complained about "pause of breaks in web series" enticed by "bold moments" in nude or semi-nude films by Mumbai Police Raj Kundra and his friends were detained. Investigation is under process for the same and Raj Kundra will remain in police custody till 27th July, 2021 until further investigation.
