1.Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958. (2) It extends to the whole of India, but sections 22, 24, 25 and 26 shall not apply to the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
