Victory for homebuyers, NCDRC slaps fine on Unitech South Park Builders

Homebuyers of the "Unitech South Park" heaved a sigh of relief when the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC) in its latest decision, directed M/s Unitech Ltd. to refund the entire amount of consideration along with compensation in the form of interest @ 10% per annum.

Homebuyers of the “Unitech South Park” heaved a sigh of relief when the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC) in its latest decision, directed M/s Unitech Ltd. to refund the entire amount of consideration along with compensation in the form of interest @ 10% per annum.

The complainants, Mr. Amit Mitra, Mr. Shubham Dutta and Mr. Sudhanshu Rawat contacted MyAdvo to facilitate with the redressal of their grievance. The complainants had entered into bilateral agreements with Unitech Ltd. The possession of the residential apartments developed at the ‘Unitech South Park’ project in Sector 70, Gurugram, was to be delivered within 36 months from its execution. Despite having paid almost 95% of the agreed consideration, the possession of the flat was not offered to them.

The construction at Unitech South Park project was incomplete at the time of delivery. Citing a reasonable grievance, the complainants were connected with Advocate Mayank Jain through the case managers at MyAdvo.
