My name was used in business by my husband for statutory purposes and now I'm getting legal notices due to his defaults. How can I protect myself?

I got married in 2004. My husband has been running his business since 1998. His father and brother were directors in the business. In 2012-13, his father expired. And brother withdrew name from directorship. For some time my name was used by my husband as director for statutory purposes. I am a housewife with 13 year old son. The facts mentioned by you indicates that you have been appointed as Director in the Company without your consent. Kindly note, under Companies Act, 2013, there are certain offences which make the Directors liable collectively and the punishment for such offences is monetary fine or imprisonment which can go upto 3 years or both.
