Can I take legal action against not being paid on time?

I've worked with a company even on Sunday whenever required, I hadn't provided proper offer letter, In their offer letter there was an incorrect date of issuing the letter and even they have not mentioned any notice period and all. When I was hired, I was verbally assured to be given a hike of 20-30% from my then salary after a month. But, this was never implemented despite my follow-ups. You can definitely sue the Company if you have not been paid your salary, however, you cannot sue them if you have not got a salary hike, as giving a salary hike is discretionary for the Company. To prove employer-employee relation, documents like employment contract, offer letter are important but they are not the only document.
