i left my job without serving the notice period of one month now the company is asking for a compensation equivalent to my one month salary. legal?
they sent me abroad just before my resignation on work but told me to take a tourist visa and they were not treating me well during my notice period. so I left.

Employment is subject to an “Employment Contract” or “Offer letter”. Generally speaking while leaving any employment an employee needs to give at least one month notice or give a months salary, however there are certain exceptions to this rule.
